Emerson was born the son of Orville and Ruth (Spry) Allen on Friday, May 30. 1924 in Byron, Oklahoma.
On February 27, 1943, Emerson and Betty Lee Ray were united in marriage in Cherokee, Oklahoma. Together they celebrated 46 years of marriage before her death in 1989.
As a young man, Emerson served his county in the US Army during World War II. He had a long career in several industries. Emerson was a farmer, oil man and equipment operator for the family business, Allen Trenching.
Survivors include his sons, Bobby Allen (Vicki) of Mt. Hope, Kanas and Doug Allen (Janet) of Milan, Kansas, daughter-in-law, Jana Allen of Wellington, Kansas; sister, Olive Hudgens of Hutchinson Kansas; brothers Delmar Allen of Byron, Oklahoma and Kelly Allen (Carol) of Longmont, Colorado, eleven grandchildren, twenty one great-grandchildren and five great-great grandchildren.
