A lifelong resident of Buncombe County, she was formerly employed with St. Joseph Hospital in the housekeeping department where she retired in 1998 following 24 years of service. She was devoted to taking care of her two sisters after retirement. She attended First Church of the Nazarene and Cornerstone Baptist Church.
Mrs. Luther was a daughter of the late Ernest Cleveland King and Cora Mae Miller King and was also preceded in death by her six brothers, Ernest, Jim, Marion, Jerry, Bill and Fred King and sister, Betty Lister.
Surviving are her sister, Virginia Taylor of Asheville; brother, Bob King of Candler and several nieces and nephews.
Funeral services will be held at 2 PM Friday, April 8, 2016 in the chapel of Anders-Rice Funeral Home. Burial will follow in Green Hills Cemetery.
