Carolyn Goodwin, 86, of Bedford passed away Thursday, March 31, 2016. Celebration of life: Family and friends will meet at 11 a.m. Saturday, May 14, at the home of Barbara Davis. She was born in Fort Worth on May 26, 1929. She became a stewardess for Braniff Airlines and attended TWU. She married Air Force Capt. Gene Goodwin on April 30, 1952. After raising four children she returned to college and received her degree in history from UTA. She taught in Fort Worth public schools until her retirement. She and Gene traveled extensively. They enjoyed golf, friends, family, and A&M football. She was preceded in death by her parents, William and Irma Cook; and her husband, Gene. Special thanks to her devoted grandson, Bryan; daughter, Barbara; and caregivers, Teresa and Jonathan. Survivors: Brother, Bill Cook and wife, Beverly; four children, Debra and Rod Syfert, Gregg and Jody Goodwin, Kim and Bill Somerville, and Barbara and John Davis; nine grandchildren; and nine great-grandchildren.
