Actress, Screenwriter. Born Gloria Rose Turner to Jewish parents who both immigrated from Europe. She studied at the University of Texas for one year, prior to returning to New York, where she took acting classes at the Dramatic Workshop, where she met actor Vic Morrow. After her and Morrow married they moved to Hollywood and she made her motion picture debut in the second-feature "Two-Gun Lady" (1955). Additionally, she appeared on numerous TV programs including "Medic", "M Squad", "Mike Hammer," "Ben Casey," and "The Virginian," and had further film credits with "Wink of an Eye" (1958) and a substantial role in "Operation Eichmann" (1961). Turner made her film debut as a writer, when she adapted the controversial Jean Genet play "Deathwatch" (1966), which was directed by Morrow. This was followed by her adaptation of the John Haase novel "Petulia" for the motion picture of the same title in 1968. During the 1970s, she wrote several acclaimed TV-Movie stories including "The Dark Side of Innocence" (1976) and "The War Between the Tates" (1977, which earned her an Emmy Award nomination). She penned the story for the motion picture "Georgia" (1995), which starred her daughter Jennifer Jason Leigh and co-wrote the screenplay for the film "Pollock" (2000). Additionally, she co-wrote the TV-Movie "Hemingway and Gellhorn" (2012), which starred Nicole Kidman. Turner's union with Vic Morrow produced their daughters actress Jennifer Jason Leigh and Carrie Ann Morrow. Her later marriage to television director Reza Badiyi produced their daughter actress Mina Badie.
