In 1852, the Cameron family arrived in New York aboard the Corra Linn. They settled in Nebraska. All three brothers served in the Civil War. George married Matilda Zipporah Davis in 1870. They had two children Carrie Cameron (Bartlett) and Elnora (Ella) Cameron(Mapes). Matilda passed away in December 1875.
On September 19, 1881 in McPherson Co., Kansas he married Anna Elizabeth Beaty Sylvester in a second marriage for both. They had four children Lily, James, Charles S., and Myrtle Cameron (married name Henderson). Lily died at a young age, James died at age 16 helping a neighbor with a well. George was a farmer and a minister. He grew up in Richardson County, Nebraska and then lived in various cities in Kansas and Oklahoma. He died in Oklahoma City, Oklahoma in the home of his daughter Myrtle. Much of this information came from his civil war pension records.
