The 1880 census taken in Kaufmann Co., Texas shows Asberry Deen as being born in 1824 and being 56 years old at the time of the census. His grave marker shows his as being born 1 July 1823. Asberry is listed as being a member of the Masonic Lodge in Jimtown, Texas (now a ghost town) and he is listed with the spelling Dean. His grave marker at Old Bethel Cemetery is with the spelling Deen, as does his wife's marker who is next to him.
