Muncie, IN. - Wayne Russel Carr, 79, of Muncie, Indiana passed away on Sunday, April 3, 2016 at IU Ball Memorial Hospital.
Wayne was born in Montrose, South Dakota on March 23, 1937 to the late Lewis A. and Maude G. (Ferrand) Carr.
Wayne had lived in Muncie for many years, having also lived in California. Wayne was happiest while playing golf or completing projects around his house. March Madness was his favorite time of year, especially when IU was playing. He also loved dancing to “big band music”. Wayne was a loving father, brother, uncle, and friend, known for his easy-going disposition. Before retirement from Associated Truck Lines, Mr. Carr was a member of the Teamsters.
He is preceded in death by his parents, sisters, Louise Delk, Lois Davis, Darlene Holloway; brothers, Gene Carr, Ardell Carr; special companion, Jane Overla.
Wayne is survived by his daughter, Pamela Carr and her husband, Jay Cortina of Rhode Island; sister, Lila Moore of Muncie, IN; brothers, Darrell Carr of Alabama; Bob Carr of Rhode Island; several nieces and nephews; special niece, Shelly Wharton of Muncie, IN.
A celebration of Wayne’s life will be held at Holy Trinity Lutheran Church on Wednesday, April 6, 2016 at 1 P.M. 900 W. White River Boulevard, Muncie, IN.
Visitation will be Wednesday, April 6, 2016 from 12:30 P.M. until 1 P.M. at the church.
