Harvey V. Robinson was born February 5, 1926 in Alvarado, Texas to Harvey V. Robinson and Elizabeth Mabry Robinson. He passed away peacefully at home on April 2, 2016 after a lengthy general decline in health.

Harvey left his senior year of High School at Alvarado early and came to Geary in the spring of 1943 at the age of 17 to plant cotton on family land because all of his older brothers were either drafted or joined the war efforts in WWII. He rode the train to and from Geary for about a year before he decided to call Geary home.

During Harvey’s early years at Geary, he noticed Kay Rowland who lived just across the river, later, when the relationship became more serious, Mom was working for the State of Oklahoma at Kingfisher, OK when he proposed. They were united in marriage at Kingfisher, OK on December 30, 1953. To this union, three sons were born: Dale Harvey, James Mark, and Daniel Robert. After 62 plus years of marriage to Kay and living in the same house for 50 years that he built with his own two hands, dad went home.

Harvey was preceded in death by his parents, three older brothers: John, William, and Mabry Robinson, and also a cousin that was raised as a sister by the Robinson family, Wilma Mabry McCarley.

He is survived by his wife Kay, of the home, three sons, Dale and wife Audrey of Gettysburg, SD, Jim and Sherry Robinson, and Daniel and Melinda Robinson both of Boise City, OK. Harvey is survived by 10 grandchildren, (Belong to Dale) Ryan Robinson of Dupree, SD, Lori Butler and husband Brandon of Pierre, SD and Lisa Quiett and husband Scott of Gettysburg, SD. (Jim’s) Matt and wife Amy of Boise City, OK, Joseph and wife Amber of Weatherford, OK, John of Keyes, OK, and Mark of Boise City, OK. (Dan’s) Noah and wife Kristen of Guthrie, OK, Joel of OKC, and Myka Koehler and husband Christoph of Tijeras, NM. Harvey leaves 16 great grandchildren, a host of life-long friends.
