Joseph Armstrong died in Marion Sunday at 11:30 p.m., following a long illness.
He was born July 17, 1866 in Monaghan, Ireland, the son of James and Ellen Armstrong, and was never married.
He came to the United States and to Marion in 1889, and during his active years was a teamster. He took out naturalization papers in 1891 and was connected with the Marion Methodist church.
A brother William, and a niece Mrs. James Dunlop, live at Grand Island, Nebr., a nephew, Reuben, resides in Marion. A brother, John, died in 1936 at Council Bluffs.
Funeral services were held at the Yocom Chapel in Marion, Wednesday afternoon at 2:30 o'clock, in charge of the Rev. James Gable, pastor of the Marion Methodist church. Burial was made in Oak Shade cemetery.
