Victor Richard Barron, 59, Poyner Township farmer, was pronounced dead on arrival at 8:10 a.m. Thursday at St. Francis Hospital after being stricken with a heart attack at his home.

He was born Sept. 4, 1906, at the rural home where he resided all his life, the son of Henry and Ida Barron.

He married Julia Lemley Nov. 17, 1934, at Dunkerton

and engaged in farming most of his life.

Mr. Barron was a member of Calvary Evangelical United Brethern Church of Waterloo. He was an active member of Dewar Community Center, Eagles Lodge of Waterloo and was past director of No. 8 East Waterloo Township school board.

In addition he was a past president of Black Hawk County Conservation Board and secretary of the Hook and Liners Sportsmens Club.

Surviving besides his widow are two daughters, Mrs. David Miller, 924 Western Ave., and Mrs. Darrel Oldenburger, Cedar Rapidsl and two brothers, Guy F. Barron, of 714 W. 1st St., and Harold Barron of 435 Conger St.

Additional survivors include a sister, Mrs. Gladys Knudson, Seal Beach, Calif., and four grandchildren. He was preceded in death by parents and two brothers.

Funeral services will be at 1:30 p.m. Saturday at Calvary Evangelical United Bretheren Church. The Rev. Richard C. Pfalzgraff, pastor, will officiate. Burial will be in Garden of Memories.

Friends may call at Chapel of Memories West after 6 p.m. Thursday.
