C.P. (Bill) Mitchell, 74, died Saturday, May 29 at the Dallas County Hospital.

A Perry resident since 1940, Mitchell was born Jan. 17, 1902 at Luther, the son of Charles and Michie Mitchell. He was married Jan. 20, 1923 at Boone to Myrtle Pennington. They farmed in Dallas County for 20 years then moved to Colorado for 16 months, returning to Perry in 1940. He was employed by the Standard Chemical Feed Company for 27 years.

Surviving are his wife, Myrtle of Perry; two sons, Lester L. Mitchell of Redfield and the Rev. Darrell V. Mitchell of Dumont; a daughter, Mrs. Lowell (Lorna) Lang of Overland Park, Kan.; a sister, Daisy Swartz of Riol Linda, Calif.; eight grandchildren and five great-grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by his parents; six brothers, Elmer, Fred, John, Guy, Eddie and Ralph; and one sister, Blanche Huffman.
