Reginald Garrett, 81, of Cameron, died Friday, April 1, 2016 in a Cameron nursing center.
Funeral services will be 10:30 am Monday at Marek-Burns-Laywell Funeral Home in Cameron with Rev. Carl Hudson officiating.
Burial will follow in the Oak Hill Cemetery.
Visitation will be one hour prior to service on Monday at the funeral home.
Mr. Garrett, a retired salesman for Plywood Distributors and Wenco, was born May 13, 1934 in Hempstead to Silas William and Laura Garrett.
He was a U. S. Navy veteran and a member of the First Baptist Church in Cameron. He had also been a member of the V.F.W. and the American Legion.
He is survived by his wife Melvena M."Goodwin" Garrett of Cameron, a son Reginald Garrett, Jr. of Hewitt, Texas and a daughter, Lauren Harrison of Devine, Texas. A sister Kathleen Hochmuth of Houston and 7 grandchildren and 4 great grandchildren.
Reginald lived to be 81 years, 10 months and 19 days old.
