Jane Swaim, as her friends knew her, of West Lafayette, passed away quietly Friday, April 1, 2016 with her family by her side, at Cumberland Pointe Health Campus.

She was born July 14, 1922, in West Lafayette, to the late George and Mayme Boes.

After graduating from West Lafayette High School in 1940 she attended Purdue University majoring in home economics.
On May 19, 1956 she married Robert William Swaim at St. Mary’s Cathedral in Lafayette.

She was a member of St. Boniface Church and Alpha Chi Omega sorority. Jane enjoyed gardening, cooking, sewing and decorating.

Surviving are her son, William Swaim of Delray Beach, FL and her daughter, Teresa Swaim of West Lafayette, along with a granddaughter, Taylor Anne Swaim of Brooklyn, NY.

She was preceded in death by two brothers, Jack G. and James Boes and two sisters, Marilyn and Julia Boes.

Visitation will be from 1:00 pm until the time of the Funeral Mass at 2:00 pm on Thursday, April 7, 2016 at St. Boniface Church with Fr. Timothy Alkire officiating. Burial will follow at St. Boniface Cemetery.
