Roy Millard Parks, age 87 passed away Saturday April, 2, 2016 at the Johnston Memorial Hospital in Abingdon.

Roy was born in Marion, VA to the late Barnett & Gladys Parks and was preceded in death by a son Eddie Parks and a sister Wilma Adams. Roy was a veteran of the U.S. Army having served in the Korean Conflict and a member of the Francis Marion V.F.W. Post 4667. He was self employed in the refrigeration industry and attended the Lowman Valley Church. He was a very loving husband, father, grandfather and great great grandfather who was a friend to many people. He will be greatly missed by his family and friends.

Survivors include: his wife of 62 years; Louise Parks, one daughter & son in law; Debbie & Dennis Dean, Marion, VA, two sisters; Lorraine Hash, Dublin, VA and Sue McCallister, Marion, VA, two grandsons; Tony Dean & wife Melissa & Eric Parks, great grandchildren; Tabitha Jean Parks, Anthony Dean, Noah Dean and Aurora Dean.

Funeral services will be held at 2pm Tuesday April 5, 2016 at the Bradley's Funeral Home in Marion with Pastor Steve Hutton officiating. Interment will follow in Rose Lawn Cemetery with full military honors being rendered by the Francis Marion V.F.W. Post 4667. The family will receive friends on Tuesday from 1-2pm at the funeral home.
