Ruby was born in St. John's Newfoundland, she married Vernon Covington who was stationed in Newfoundland with the USAF. Ruby and Vernon moved to the US where they had three children.
Ruby is survived by her daughter Janice, son David, five grandchildren, Matthew, Megan, Mallory, Brooke and Blaine, eight great grandchildren, sisters: Rosalie, Ruth, Judy, brother Bill and twenty-seven nieces and nephews.
Ruby was preceded in death by her father William Hillier, mother Triffie, stepmother Ruth, brothers Leonard and David, daughter Kathleen and ex-husband Vernon.
