Wyatt F. Gill, a former resident of this area, died Wednesday, March 29, at the McGraff Hospital, North Tonawanda.
He was born in Bradford Township April 13, 1881, a son of the late Samuel H. and Sarah (Smeal) Gill, pioneer residents of the area.
He was married to Maude Wilson, who preceded him in death.
Mr. Gill was a former member of the Dale Methodist Church, the Bradford Grange and the Clearfield County Unit of the Sons of the American Revolution.
He was a well known amateur athlete with the Philadelphia Police Force during his early life and then returned to operate the family farm in Bradford Township and real estate holdings in Clearfield. He was also active in the management of and insurance operation affiliated with the Grange, and served as tax assessor for Bradford Township for a number of years.
Surviving are three daughters: Mrs. Sara McGraw, Tonawanda, N.Y., with whom he resided; Mrs. Ann Allen, Daytona Beach, Fla.; Mrs. Maxine Dale, Smock, Pa.; and four sons: David Gill, Salt Lake City, Utah; W. Frank Gill, New Castle; John Gill, Buffalo, N.Y.; and Orvis W. Gill, Dallas, Texas.
Services were held yesterday at the Creasy Funeral Home, Tonawanda, N.Y., with interment at the Dale Cemetery in Bradford Township.

Mckean County Miner, April 13, 1972 -- Wyatt F. Gill, 90, father of former Bradford City Councilman member Orvis W. Gill, died at Mo. Graff Hospital, North Tonawanda, N.Y., March 29. As a young man he was known as an outstanding amateur athlete with the Philadelphia Police Force. He operated a farm and real estate holdings and insurance interests until retiring 20 years ago in Clearfield County, Pa.
