Martha Jane Couch Massey 87, of Demopolis, passed away April 2,at her residence. Services will be held 2 p.m. Monday April 4, 2016, at First Baptist Church with Rev. Freddie Massey, Rev Carl Williams and Chaplain Robert Pearce officiating. Burial will follow in Demopolis Memorial Gardens. Kirk Funeral Homes Demopolis Chapel directing.

She was born Sept. 21, 1928, in Byington, Tenn.

She was preceded by her parents, Robert and Ethel Couch; husband, Luther Avery Massey Sr.; son, Robert Lewis Massey; daughter-in-law, Florence Etheridge Massey; daughter, Dorothy Jane Massey Smith.

She is survived by her daughters, Ethel Estelle (Wallace) Thomas of Marion and Bernice Ann (James) Johnson of Demopolis; sons, Luther Avery (Linda) Massey Jr. of Gallion and Freddie Lee (Wanda) Massey of Coker; son-in-law, Champ Smith of Sweetwater; sisters, Dorothy Whitfield of Prattville, Myrtle (Harold) Dunn of Demopolis and Ethel Grey (James) of Linden; brothers, Robert L.(Anita) Couch of Jefferson; 12 grandchildren; 14 great-grandchildren.

Pallbearers will be Kevin Thomas, Luke Massey, Jamee Johnson, Kelly Thomas, Jeff Emory and Jesse Johnson.

Honorary pallbearers will be John Allen Boozer, Benny Oglesby, Joy Group, Comfort Care Hospice, Latonya Gipson, Sakeya Williams, Connie Crymes, Luther Boozer Jr., Bobby Oglesby, BWWMH Pink Ladies, Dollie Hudson, Leann Teel, Linda Holt, Always Home, Brandi Daniels and Hugh Lloyd Sunday School Class.
