Burman Alvin "Bernie" Banks
Burman "Bernie" Alvin Banks Sr., 86, passed away peacefully on March 19th, 2016 of age related causes. He was born December 4th, 1929 in Wenatchee, Washington to Marion Riley Banks and Violet Mildred Keller Banks. He was the 4th of 8 children. He married his wife of 63 years, Patricia Joan Wagner, in June 1953, together they had five sons.
In the early years Bernie worked for the State of Idaho highway department before moving the family to Oregon in 1969 where he became a truck driver, later being an owner operator of his own truck until his retirement in 1994. He enjoyed fishing, tinkering on his truck and working in his wood shop after retirement crafting wooden log, highway and dump trucks.
Bernie is survived by his wife Joan, sons Bernie Jr, James, Kevin and Darren. Five grandsons and 5 great- grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his son Patrick.
