Roscoe, May 30 - Jim M. Pearce, 78, retired farmer, died at 9 a.m. Sunday of a heart attack at his home here.
Funeral has tentatively been set for Tuesday in Wells Funeral Home Chapel with the Rev. Alfred Sevrin, pastor of the Roscoe Presbyterian Church, officiating. Burial will be in Roscoe Cemetery. Grandsons will serve as pallbearers. They are Ray, Donald, Carl, Billy, Jimmy Ford and Buster Pearce, and Ray and Bobby Dunlap.
He was born May 8, 1876 in Fruitville, Tenn. He married Beatrice Cheatham of Paris and they moved to Nolan County in November of 1924.
Survivors include his wife; five sons, D. L. of Roscoe, Frank of Bairdstown, Cheatham of Silsbee, Jim of Clifton, Ariz. and Jack of Roscoe; three daughters, Mrs. Bessie Ford of Clifton, Ariz., Mrs. Winnie Gordon of Bairdstown and Mrs. Lora Mae Treadaway of Roscoe; one sister, Mrs. Lillie Elizabeth Cross of Paris; 17 grandchildren and nine great-grandchildren.
