Sweetwater - William Arnold Allen, 74, of Sweetwater, died at 7:30 p.m. Monday in Rolling Plains Memorial Hospital.

Services will be at 4 p.m. today in First Baptist Church in Roscoe. Burial will be in the Roscoe Cemetery under direction of McCoy Funeral Home.

He was born Dec. 8, 1903 in Yantis and was married to Lura Adele Sudduth on Nov. 24, 1925 in Canton. He was a retired farmer and civic employee and had lived in Sweetwater 14 years.

Survivors include his wife; two sons, Fred Allen of Cedar Hills and A. J. Allen of Arlington; three daughters, Gladys Stillman of Mesquite, Hazel Bartek of Forney and Inez Dunlap of Roscoe; one brother, Billy Allen of Yantis; one sister, Mrs. Bill Lender of Roswell, N.M.; eight grandchildren and one great-grandchild.
