Jack Edward Cash was born in Edwardsville, Alabama on January 1, 1932, to Cleola (Warren) Cash and James J. Cash. Jack graduated from Anniston High School Class of 1950. He was also a graduate of Auburn University where he was a member of the Army ROTC and received his degree in mechanical engineering. Jack chose to serve his country through a military career. He was a highly decorated military officer who served in the Vietnam War and retired from the Army as a Lieutenant Colonel in 1975. Jack went to work for the US Postal Service for 20 years from which he also retired. Jack was thankful to the Lord for bringing his wife Margaret into his life. Jack and Margaret were devoted Christians and raised their family in a Christ centered home. Jack was an avid outdoorsman and enjoyed hunting, fishing and spending time outside. He also loved to garden and was a bee keeper. While most houses in the neighborhood had a pool in the backyard, Jack had a huge, lush garden full of a great variety of fruits and vegetables. On March 28, 2016 Jack went to be with the Lord after spending a wonderful Easter with his family. He lived a full life dedicated to his faith, family and friends. Jack leaves behind his wife of 63 years, Margaret; sons, Bryan Cash and Dennis Cash; daughter, Karen Brannon; five grandchildren and five great-grandchildren. He is preceded in death by son, Michael Cash. Graveside service will be at Forestlawn Gardens at 2:30 p.m.
