LaVerne (Coleman) Wallace, 58, Kokomo, passed away at 6:00 am on Tuesday, March 29, 2016, at St. Vincent Hospital in Indianapolis. She was born on February 21, 1958, in Kokomo, the daughter of Lockert & Juanita (Esparza) Coleman.
LaVerne was a 1976 graduate of Haworth High School and had attended Indiana Business College. She worked for Golden Living Center - Sycamore Village as a Certified Nursing Assistant for over 20 years. She also worked for Kokomo Urban Outreach with the clothing distribution for 2 years. LaVerne loved to read, do crossword puzzles, and write poetry. She cherished her time spent with her children and grandchildren and dedicated her time to help feed the children of the community and make sure they had clothing.
LaVerne is survived by her children, Ramon (Alicia) Reece, Brandenburg, KY, and Daphne (Fred) Reece – Jackson, Kokomo; grandchildren, Celeste Reece, Stephanie Reece, Taylor Reece, Docker Reece, Ramon Reece III, Jalen Wilson, Gabrielle Reece, and Violet Jackson; siblings, Anthony Coleman, Oakland, CA, Barbara Vandevender, Kokomo, and Lockeeta Coleman, Atlanta, GA, along with special cousin, Jesse Hillman; former husband, Ray Reece, Indianapolis.
LaVerne was preceded in death by her parents, brother, Lockert Coleman, and former husband, Theaellis Wallace.
