Jerry Wayne Coursen, 69, died in San Diego, Calif., Saturday, March 19, 2016.

Jerry served in the United States Navy. During his military service, Jerry fought in the Vietnam War and received medals for his service. When he was discharged, he remained in San Diego. He would come back to Missouri to attend family reunions and spend time with his family.

Jerry was preceded in death by his grandparents, Floyd and Regina Bales; father, Lyle R. Coursen; three brothers, Lyle E., Norman F., and Tom E.; and an infant sister, Carol Sue.

He is survived by his mother, Evelyn M. Coursen of Kearney, Mo.; two sisters, Betty Reese of Campton, Ky., and Deborah and David Greenwood of Kearney, Mo.; stepsister, Linda Rogers of Wood Heights, Mo.; twin daughters, Lisa Damme and Lori Luongo, three grandsons, Anthony Cavigliano, Alexander Damme, and Ryan Luongo, two granddaughters, Cassandra Luongo-Cavigliano and Nevaeh Luongo, all of California. He is also survived by many other relatives and friends.

Jerry will be missed by all.

A visitation will be held from 10 to 11 a.m. Saturday, April 9, 2016 at Bross and Spidle Funeral Home in Excelsior Springs, Mo., followed by a graveside service at Crown Hill Cemetery at 11 a.m.
