LOUISE (SMITH) COOPER

Louise Cooper, age 85, of Cottonwood Falls, KS, died Wednesday, March 23, 2016, at the Golden Living Center of Chase County in Cottonwood Falls. The daughter of Thomas A. and M. Eunice (Traner) Smith, Nellie Louise was born November 20, 1930, at Hymer, KS. She graduated from Strong City Rural High School in 1948. She and Ivan LeRoy Cooper were married July 15, 1950, in Augusta, KS. He preceded her in death on September 27, 2002.

She worked at the nursing home for 18 years, in the dietary department, and was a homemaker. She was a member of the Cottonwood Falls United Methodist Church. Louise enjoyed sewing, embroidering, and watching KSU ballgames and she made the best chocolate chip cookies ever!

She is survived by two sons: Donald Cooper (Vista) and Wendell Cooper (Cindy) of Cottonwood Falls; one daughter: Linda Chancey (Larry) of Sapulpa, OK; four grandchildren: Joshua Fraser (Misti), Todd Fraser, Amber Schlup (Brent), and Travis Cooper; and four great-grandchildren: Rustin Fraser, Fiona Fraser, Eva Schlup, and Harvey Schlup. She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, and a sister, Evelyn Jackson.

A celebration of life service will be held Saturday, at 2:00 P.M., at the Bazaar Schoolhouse with officiate, Pastor Kimberly Shank. The family will scatter her cremains at a later date.

There will be no visitation. Memorial contributions, in lieu of flowers, to the Cottonwood Falls United Methodist Church may be sent in care of Brown-Bennett-Alexander Funeral Home, P.O. Box 220, Cottonwood Falls, KS 66845. Condolence messages may be left at the funeral home's website.
