Patsy Ray Ross was born to Dora Brewington (deceased) in Dillon, S.C., on Nov. 12, 1939. At an early age the family relocated to Lumberton, N.C., where she resided until she married.
Patsy met and married William C. Ross on Feb. 6, 1965. They had a daughter, Patricia Brewington-Burnett. Patsy and her husband moved to Groton in 1965.
Patsy was predeceased by her brother, James E. McNeill. She was previously employed by General Dynamics of Groton.
Patsy leaves to cherish her memory two sisters-in-law, Betty McNeill of North Carolina and Joan Johnson of Groton, two brothers-in-law, Calvin Ross (Essie) of New York, Gerald Ross of Groton; a daughter, Patricia Brewington-Burnett (Anthony); two grandsons, Reginald McNeill (Mary Ellen) and Rodney McNeill (Dee); five great-grandchildren, Jalen Douglas of Tennessee, Shalamar McNeill-Brown, Caleb McNeill and Devon McNeill of Groton, and Maleia McNeill of North Carolina; as well as a host of nieces, nephews, and cousins.
A funeral service will be held at 11 a.m. on Saturday, April 2, 2016, at Fulton-Theroux Funeral Home, 181 Ocean Ave., New London, CT 06320. There will be an hour of visitation from 10 to 11 a.m. before the service. Burial will follow at Colonel Ledyard Cemetery, Groton.
