W. L. Hatcher Passes Away

Will Hatcher, 84 resident of Albany all his life, died at the Shackelford County Memorial Hospital at 11:00 Tuesday night. Mr. Hatcher had resided at Bluebonnet Lodge the past few years.

Funeral services will be held at the First Christian Church the Tuesday afternoon at 5:00 with the minister Rev. Ed Seal officiating.

Hatcher was born in Shackelford County November 14, 1886, son of the late Mr. & Mrs. L.F. Hatcher, a pioneer settler of the county. He was reared here and became an employee of the First National Bank in 1919, and served the bank for 37 years, retiring Jan. 1 1956 as assistant cashier.

He was married to Grace Knowles in Albany May 15, 1915.

Surviving are his wife, two daughters, Mrs. Mary Hammett of La Feria and Mrs. Aline Stimatze of Fort Worth: two grandchildren and one great-grandchild.

Also, surviving are three sister Mrs.J.F. Sedwick, Mrs. Lella Landers and Mrs. Earl Lieb.

A son Lt. Norman Hatcher was lost in action over the Philippines, December 26, 1944. He was a bomber pilot in the Southwest Pacific.
