Craig enlisted in the Marines 31 October 1966, at a recruiting office in Pittsburg.
Arriving in Vietnam 15 May 1967, Craig was assigned to H&S Company, 1st Battalion, 1st Marine Regiment, 1st Marine Division. Craig was aboard a CH-53A #15370 enroute to Phu Bai and then to the Khe Sanh Combat Base, when the CH-53A hit a mountain 15 kilometers south southeast of Ba Long Airfield. The CH-53A crashed and burned and there were no survivors. Craig and the other passengers were recovered and identified.
Survived by his parents, Clarence N and Arlowene G May of 160 East Washington Street, New Castle, PA.
