Julia Elizabeth Wood
1923-2016

Julia Elizabeth Wood, 92, of Carmel, Ind., passed away at 11 p.m. March 29, 2016.

She was born in Hamtramck, Mich. on Nov. 10, 1923 to John and Mary Magdalina (later Ferenc) Kielasa. She was married May 28, 1941 to Willard Wood, who passed away April 8, 1981.

She was formerly a long-time resident of Monroe, Mich., where she and her husband had been employed by the Monroe Evening News and were members of St. Mary's Catholic Church. She moved to Carmel, Ind. in 2009 to be with her daughter's family. She was a member of St. Maria Goretti Catholic Church in Westfield, Ind. She was proceeded in death by her husband, Willard; her daughter, Sharon Hoffman, and her siblings: Adam Kielasa, Stanley Kielasa, Lillian Petrucci, Joseph Kielasa, and Helen Skakun.

She is survived by her daughter Judith Dolan and son-in-law John Dolan of Carmel, Ind., son Lawrence Wood and son-in-law James Wachsning of Oro Valley, Ariz.; son-in-law J. Nicholas Hoffman of Monroe, Mich., grandchildren Douglas Dolan and his wife Jennifer, Laura and her husband John Schroer, Steven Dolan, John Hoffman and Christopher Hoffman; and great- grandchildren Emerson and Samuel Schroer and Elizabeth and Isabella Dolan.

Visitation will be at Monday, April 4, at St. Mary Catholic Church in Monroe from 10 a.m. until the 11 a.m. Funeral Mass. Burial will be at St. Joseph Cemetery, in Monroe.
