Joseph "Joe" Michael Craig, 63, went home to be with the Lord on Wednesday, March 30, 2016. Joe was born in Gastonia on March 17, 1953, a son of Richard Hunter and Frances Moore Craig.

Joe was an electrical contractor working for 31 years with Wiring Unlimited in Cleveland, OH, then with Dallas Electric of Gastonia. He was a member of East Baptist Church in Gastonia and enjoyed golf and bowling.

In addition to his parents, Hunter and Frances Craig of Gastonia, Joe is survived by his son, David Joseph Craig of Brooklyn, NY; sister, Diane Craig Knox of Thomasville; brother-in-law, Mark Knox of Dallas; uncle and aunt, Eddie Craig and Hilda Lowery of Gastonia; nephew, Craig Alan Knox of Raleigh; niece, Shanna Knox Sensing and her husband, Scott of Thomasville; great- nephews and great-niece, Jaken, Wills and Meah; numerous cousins and friends.

Joe was preceded in death by his grandparents, Joe and Mabel Craig, and Ruby and Seals Moore.

The family will receive friends on Sunday, April 3, 2016 from 3:00 PM until 4:00 PM at McLean Funeral Directors of Gastonia. The funeral service will be held at 1:00 PM Monday, April 4, 2016 in Founders Chapel of McLean Funeral Directors of Gastonia with Rev. Tim Parker officiating. Interment will follow in Gaston Memorial Park.
