Janie Howard MT. PLEASANT - Funeral services celebrating the life of Mrs. Janie R. Howard will be held on Saturday, September 12, 2015 at 1:00 pm in Friendship A.M.E. Church, 204 Royal Ave., Mount Pleasant, SC 29464. She will be laid to rest in Ocean Grove Cemetery, Mt. Pleasant, SC. Visitation for Mrs. Howard will be this evening at the mortuary from 6:00 pm to 8:00 pm where the family will be receiving friends beginning at 7:00 pm.
She is survived by her children: Thomas Wright (Patricia) of Kileen, TX, Antinetta Vandershorst (Edward) of Charlotte, NC, Rachelle Wright-Woods (Lafonzo) of Ft. Myers, AL, Arlean Crosby (Vardric) of Charlotte, NC, John Wright (Pam) of Mt. Pleasant, SC and Edrenia Wright (Sylvester) of Mt. Pleasant, SC; thirty-four grandchildren; twenty-five great-grandchildren; siblings, Rosalind B. Snipe and Ethel Alston; aunts: Hilda Boykin, Maggie Brown and Jenny Delaphose and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Jacob Wilson and Louise Bennett Jones; husband, Mr. Robert Howard; children: Twyla Rasheed, Barry Wright and Edward Wright and grandson, Muhammed Rasheed.
