After graduating from high school, Don served in the United States Army in Korea during the Vietnam War and received an honorable discharge in 1967. Don later worked as an assembly worker for an Aircraft Manufacturing Company until his retirement.
Don was preceded in death by his mother, Hazel Mae Hill; father, Clet Edward Griffith Jr; and brother, Reginald “Reggie” Hill.
He is survived by his sisters, Carolyn Townsend and husband Ken, and Darlene Hamilton and husband Butch; step father, Joe R. Hill; aunt, Joan Morgan; and many nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends.
