EDWARD A. WALLACE, 83, Lima, died at 5:55 p.m. Dec. 28, 2001, at Lima Manor Nursing Home.


He was born May 9, 1918, in Elyria to Robert and Frances Huffman Wallace, who preceded him in death. On Dec. 21, 1945, he married Jennie T. Grozdanik, who survives.


Mr. Wallace was a machinist at Ex-Cell-O Corp. He was commander of the Navy Club Ship 9, past commander of Veterans of Foreign Wars Post 1275, past commander MOC 6 PT Cooties, trustee of District 2 VFW, member of American Legion Post 96, Moose Lodge 199 and Fraternal Order of Eagles Aerie 370. He was a member of Lima Lodge 205 Free & Accepted Masons, 32nd Degree Mason, Scottish Rite Valley of Dayton and Trinity Chapter 16 Order of Eastern Star. He was a Navy veteran and a World War II Pearl Harbor survivor.


Survivors also include a son, Stephen A. (Penny) Wallace of Pacifica, Calif.; two brothers, Arthur Wallace of Oberlin and Harry Wallace of California; and a

granddaughter. Makaila Wallace.


He was preceded in death by fire brothers, William, Robert, Jim, Gordon and Tom Wallace; and five sisters, Jennie Kubitz, Bertha Wallace, Tillie Teaman, Betty Fitzgerald and Bella Young.


Services will begin at 6 p.m. Monday at Chiles & Sons-Laman Funeral Homes, Shawnee Chapel. Dick Coon will officiate. Burial will be at 1 p.m. Wednesday in Ridge Hill Cemetery, Amherst.Friends may call from 3 to 6 p.m. Monday at the funeral home.
