Marjorie A Gilbert, 92, of Lafayette died Wednesday, March 23, 2016 at her home.
She was born August 21, 1923, in Tippecanoe County to the late Hobert and Margaret Yost Brand. On February 8, 1943 she married Adrien Gilbert and he preceded her in death in March of 1979. Marjorie worked at Loeb's Department Store for 20 years and was a school crossing guard at Highland School. She enjoyed sewing, reading and crocheting.
Surviving are her children John Gilbert (Elaine) of Mulberry, Jim Gilbert, Donna Cooper (Dave) all of Lafayette, Donald Gilbert of Denver, 5 grandchildren and 9 great grandchildren. Also surviving are her sisters Rose Thompson of Burbank, CA, Julia Morrison, Nancy Buck (Jim), brothers Lowell Brand all of Lafayette and Lee Brand of West Lafayette.
A private service will be held. Entombment will be at Tippecanoe Memory Gardens.
