He was born on October 6, 1947 in Waskom, Texas and had lived in Newton for most of his life.
He was retired from the Texas Department of Transportation and was a U. S. Army veteran.
He is survived by his daughter, Bridget Fowler and Stephen Sutton of Newton, grandchildren, Maddi Ruggles and Wade Ruggles, brothers, William Larry Fowler and wife, Linda of Deweyville, Texas and Bo Fowler of Lumberton, Texas, sisters, Libby Fowler of Newton and Lois Price and husband, Paul of Newton, aunts, Dorothy Miller of Jasper and Helen Lynch of Bogata, Texas and serveral nieces, nephews and friends.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Bronson and Alma Fowler.
Visitation will be on Friday from 5pm~8 pm at Smith Funeral Home in Newton.
Funeral services will be on Saturday, April 2, 2016 at 2pm at the First Baptist Church in Newton.
Burial to follow at Ford Cemetery between Newton and Bon Wier, Texas~
