Sharon Purdy, who passed away Easter Sunday, was raised on the Towle family farm in Chester, New Hampshire. She Married Jay Purdy in 1959. She was predeceased by her daughter Katherine Purdy. She is survived by her husband Jay, her daughters Kerry Huffman of Shalimar Florida, Thao Bradford of Denver Colorado and Tracy Brown of Plano Texas; Sons Douglas Purdy of Snowshoe West Virginia, David Purdy of Las Vegas Nevada, Lee Watkins of Shalimar Florida and Art Purdy of Bangkok, Thailand. She is also survived by thirteen grandchildren and two great-grandchildren.
She was the Chairman of the Ocean City-Wright Fire Control District and the first state certified residential contractor in Okaloosa County. She was heavily involved in the real estate business, managing rental properties and redeveloping houses.
A service will be held April fourth at 2:00 PM at St. Mary's Catholic Church in Fort Walton Beach. A reception will follow at her home at 60 Marlborough Road, in Shalimar. It will be outdoors so casual clothing is appropriate. In lieu of flowers, please make a contribution in her name to the .
