Marie Lowe, age 97, a native of Calhoun County, MS and a resident of Madera for 73 years passed away Tuesday, March 30, 2016 at a Madera hospital. She was a homemaker, worked at the lunch room at Monroe Elementary School, the Fruit Basket Restaurant for 10 years and Madera Cleaners until her retirement in the 1970's. She was raised a Methodist, joined the Baptist church, then was married and later baptized as a Catholic to follow her husband.
She was preceded in death by her husband Norvel Lowe in 1990.
She is survived by her children: Juanita & Joe Sotelo of Fresno, CA; Glen Dora Brosi and Patricia Galleano both of Madera, CA and Barbara Frisby and her husband Hal of Brush Prairie, WA. 2 sisters-in-law: Ellen Lowe of Laurel, MS and Betty Jean Pulliam and her husband Shorty of Ellisville, MS. She is also survived by her 8 grandchildren, 19 great-grandchildren and 30 great-great-grandchildren.
Visitation will be on Monday, April 4, 2016 from 2:00 pm to 8:00 pm at Jay Chapel in Madera. Graveside Services will be Tuesday, April 5, 2016 at 11:00 am at Arbor Vitae Cemetery in Madera.
She was preceded in death by her husband Norvel Lowe in 1990.
