Gayle [ Smith ] Marrs, Age 91, Passed away Wednesday March 30, 2016, In the company of Family Members, at the Home of her Daughter, in Alvaton, Kentucky. She was Born July 29, 1924, in Monroe County, Kentucky., To the Late; Ollie Sims Smith and Ernest Haeckel Smith.
Gayle was Married to John Conkin Marrs, Who Preceded her in death on January 10, 1967. She was a Faithful Member of Tompkinsville First Baptist Church, where she had been a member for Seventy Four years. She was a Retired Nurse having worked at Monroe County War Memorial Hospital for Thirty-Three Years and then at The Nursing Home for Five years, before Retiring.
Her Survivors are; Three Daughters; Sue Ellen [ Ricky ] Grider of Bowling Green, Kentucky., Pamela Keown, of Lewisburg, Kentucky., Melissa [ Jimmy ] Baxter of Alvaton, Kentucky., A Son; Tim [ Debbie ] Marrs , of Morgantown, Kentucky., A Sister, Sue Miller of Franklin, A Brother, Carl " Mackie " Smith of Louisville, Kentucky., Four Grandchildren, Jonathan Fox, Anthony Scott Marrs, Ben Baxter, Amanda Marrs, Two Great-Grandchildren, Several Nieces and Nephews.
Preceded in Death by Her Parents, Her Husband, and a Son; John Conkin " Heepie " Marrs, Jr., Two Grandchildren; John Conkin Marrs 111, and Mollie Marrs, One Brother, Earl Smith. Three Sisters; Ruth Duncan, Nell Miller and Lois Rich. Three Half Brothers; Otto Lewis, Paul and Cleo Smith.and One Half-Sister; Eula Smith Brown.
