"Heather Ilene Pennington, 17, of Kelso died January 1, 2004 after a courageous battle with brain cancer. She was born October 8, 1986 in Longview...Heather attended school in Kelso from Kindergarten through 11th grade.

She enjoyed school, church, playing softball and coaching her younger sisters. She was very proud of her grades at school where she maintained a 3.9 G.P.A. from grade 7-10. She was very strong willed and bright and enjoyed family and friends. She was a member of Beacon Hill Baptist church and Kelso Softball.

Her faith in the Lord kept her very strong through her illness. She never complained or questioned it.

She said she knew she was in God's hands and that she wasn't afraid.

She will be missed very much by all who knew and loved her.
