Donna Marie Akins Hatfield, 58, died Friday, April 19, 2013, at her residence. She is the daughter of William E. and Ella M. Harp Akins of Lawrenceburg. Donna graduated high school in Virginia Beach, Va., and was a former employee of E.D.S./H.P. Medical Claims and previously worked at Unisys for six years and Fruit of the Loom for 16 years. She is a member of Farmdale Baptist Church and enjoyed reading, shopping and spending time with her grandchildren.
Along with her parents, she is survived by her husband of 39 years, Joseph D. "Joe" Hatfield, Sr.; a son, Joseph D. "Little Joe" Hatfield, Jr. (Wendy); three grandchildren, Thomas Walker, Destiny T. and Stephen A. Hatfield, all of Lawrenceburg; a brother, Billy Akins of Lawrenceburg; two sisters, Cindy Combs (Marvin) of Jackson, Ky., and Dora Paige (Allen) of Frankfort. She was preceded in death by an infant son, William Kevin Hatfield.
Funeral services were held April 22 at the Ritchie & Peach Funeral Home with Bro. Steve Weaver officiating. Burial followed in the Lawrenceburg Cemetery. Pallbearers were nephews, Jason, Scott, and Chris Akins, Jeremy and Brian Vaughn, Buddy, Anthony, and Stephen A. Hatfield.
