Charles L. Altenbaugh, 60, of Toledo, passed away July 9, 2004, at The Toledo Hospital. He was born in Toledo, Ohio, on October 16, 1943, to Robert and Loretta (Reihing) Altenbaugh. Charles was employed by Norfolk and Southern Rail Road as a bridge operator and was a member of Our Lady Fatima Knights of Columbus. He also enjoyed playing pogo on the computer and bowling.
Surviving are his mother, Loretta; children, Charles II, Christine (Robert) Bartic, Cary (Cindy) and Christian; grandchildren, Ashley, Adam, April, Heather, Erin, Kala, Joseph, Nicole and Christian; great-grandchildren, Trey, Amara and Alexis; brother, Michael (Peggy); sister, Elizabeth (Ron) Rowland; his dear friend, Gypsy, and several nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his father, Robert K., and brother, Robert J. Altenbaugh.
Friends and family may visit at the Eggleston Meinert Pavley Funeral, Coy Road Chapel, 440 S. Coy Road, Oregon, OH, on Monday, July 12, 2004, from 12 p.m. until the time of the funeral service at 2 p.m. Interment will follow in Lake Twp. Cemetery. The family suggest memorial contributions be made to the Ronald McDonald House.

Charles's grandparents were Bertrum Altenbaugh and Leda DeMars. Bertrum is from the Altenbaugh family of John L. and his mother Margaret L. Noel of Tiffin, Ohio.
