Lenny grew up in St. Louis attended Washington University. After marrying, she moved to Houston, where she worked for Dr. Bloxsom and later for the JCC in their nursery school and membership departments. For many years she was an active member and volunteer of B’nai B’rith Women, Hadassah, the Sisterhoods of Beth Yeshurun and United Orthodox Synagogues, Girl Scouts, Boy Scouts, P.T.O.s and Mental Health Mental Retardation Association. She also provided emotional support to grieving parents. Her home always was open to anyone including newcomers in need of a place to stay, a home-cooked meal or a place to spend Shabbat and holidays.
She enjoyed mah-jongg, bowling, baking, traveling, reading and especially spending time with her children and grandchildren. She became an adult Bat Mitzvah and immersed herself in Jewish education courses.
Lenora was preceded in death by her parents, Sarah and Sol Barst; brother, Irving Barst; son, Hal Steven Fallas; and daughter, Michelle Beth Fallas.
