Marla Karleen Miller, daughter of Wilbur and Ruby (Pierce) Mills, was born September 13, 1936 at Primghar, IA, in O'Brien County. She received her education there, graduating from Primghar High School. She went on to attend Wayne State University at Wayne, NE for two years.

On August 9, 1957, Marla was united in marriage to Delmar D. Miller. The couple was blessed with three children.

Marla taught school for two years at the Hartley Public Elementary School in Hartley, IA. She was a member of Trinity United Church of Christ in Hartley where she taught Sunday School and served in various offices of the Dorcus Society. Marla also served her community as a 4-H Leader and Brownie Leader. She volunteered in the elementary school for many years and also at the Mann Wing.

Marla enjoyed doing cross-stitch and crochet projects. She collected angels, and loved to work jig saw puzzles. Other leisure hours were spent playing cards or computer games.

Left to cherish her memory are her daughter, Lori of Urbandale, IA; her son, Daniel (Jo) of Hartley; granddaughters, [redacted]; three great-grandsons, [redacted; one niece, [redacted]n; one nephew, [redacted]; two great-nephews, [redacted]; and other relatives and friends.

She was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Delmar; one son, Thomas; her sister and brother-in-law, Maxine and Dick Robinson; and a special aunt and uncle, Albert & Ercella Wulf.
