Wanetta Jane Shumaker passed away Wednesday, March 30, 2016 in her Bellville home surrounded by her family. She was 92.
She was born April 29, 1923 to parents Thomas & Maude (Morrison) Rinehart in Mansfield. On November 14, 1938 Wanetta married Curtis A. Shumaker and they shared 56 wonderful years of marriage until he passed away in 1995. They are together again.
In spare time, she took pleasure in reading. But above all, Wanetta cherished spending time with her children and grandchildren.
She is survived by her children Diana Nidiffer of Jamestown, NY, Craig (Nora) Shumaker of Bellville, and Brenda (Ray) Hood of Mansfield; grandchildren Tony (Claudette) Walker, Todd Walker, Jennifer Tinch, Jeffrey Hazen, Scott (Londa) Nidiffer, Nicole (Adam) Au, and Michelle (Eric) Oswalt; 8 great grandchildren; great-great grandchildren; siblings Jack Rinehart, Paul (Hannah) Rinehart, Joan Williams, Joyce Perry, Susan (Loren) Thompson, and numerous nieces and nephews.
In addition to her loving husband, she was preceded in death by her parents and daughter Sharon Hazen; grandchildren Mark Hazen, Terry Walker, Bryan Nidiffer, and LeeAnn Ling; great granddaughters Brittany and Adrienne Ling; sisters Iris Williams, Ladonna Livingston, and Barbara Worner.
A funeral service held in Wanetta’s memory will take place on Friday, April 1, 2016 at 12 p.m. with an hour prior of calling at the Bellville Butler Chapel Snyder Funeral Home. Pastor Andy Smith will officiate with burial to follow in Bellville Cemetery.
