Leo Donald Thompson, 60, was born on December 17, 1955 to the late Cleo (Sr.) and Mineola Thompson, in Mesa, AZ.

Leo passed away on Friday March 18, 2016, at his home in Wagoner, OK.

In 1956, at the young age of 1 year old, Leo’s family relocated to Harris Oklahoma. Leo attended Riverside elementary school, and finished high school at Haworth High School in Haworth, Oklahoma.

After high school, Leo returned to Phoenix Arizona to attend Arizona State University where he studied math.

Since the age of 15 Leo had been building, fixing, carving and crafting things. He was a true carpenter.

Leo met and married Mary Jo Vaughn of Idabel, Oklahoma. They were married for several years. Mary Jo always has and still remains a part of the Thompson family.

Leo accepted Christ at an early age and united with Antioch Missionary Baptist Church in Harris, OK. Upon moving to Wagoner Oklahoma Leo united with First Baptist Church of Wagoner, OK where he served as a deacon. At the time of his death, he was united with St. John’s Baptist church, Gibson Station, OK.

Leo (known to most as one of them Twins) was an extremely caring man who always made everyone laugh. He treated everyone according to the Golden rule and with respect. You could expect a call like clockwork every month from Leo calling his friends and family checking in to make sure everyone was doing ok.

Preceding Leo in death are; his father Cleo Thompson, Sr.; mother Mineola Thompson, brother Willie Thompson, Jr, and sister Lois G (Thompson) Mosley.

He leaves to cherish his memory two sisters; Gwendolyn Fields of Denver, CO., and JoAnn Calvin of Phoenix, AZ., three brothers; Clevester “Peter” (Wannetta) Thompson of Oakland, CA., Curtis (Becky) Thompson of Midwest City, OK., Cleo “Robert” (Mary) Thompson of Muskogee, OK., and A host of nieces, nephews, cousins, in-laws and very special friends.

Funeral arrangements are set for 1 pm Saturday April 2, 2016 at Antioch Missionary Baptist Church in Harris, OK, with Rev. Nathaniel Williams officiating.

Interment will follow at Oak Grove Cemetery
