Alva Glenn Christensen was born Tuesday, August 13, 1918 in Salt Lake City, Utah to Archie Bert Christensen and Sarah Curtis.

He married Melba Hampton on June 24, 1944 in Salt Lake City; solemnized in the Salt Lake LDS Temple on October 26, 1959. They resided at 4735 South 4720 West in the Hoffman Heights neighborhood of Kearns, Utah for several years. After selling their home, they moved to the Granger area of West Valley City, Utah, residing at 3954 West Emerald Green Drive (4100 South) and 2275 West Orion Way (3620 South). After living there for several years, they moved to Taylorsville, residing at 4347 South 1230 West.

He was a graduate of Richfield High School, Class of 1936. Glenn attended Brigham Young University and LDS Business College. He was a charter member of the South Davis Lions Club, former secretery of the Kearns Kiwanis Club, former member of the Kearns High Booster Club, former member of the Kearns Town Council, member and vice chairman of the State Board of Education. He also worked as a tax accountant for several years.

Glenn was an active member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints. He served as bishop of the Kearns Ninth and Sixteenth Wards, high councilman, ward clerk, home teacher, and temple worker in the Salt Lake and Jordan River LDS Temples.

Glenn passed away on Monday, February 21, 1994 at Pioneer Valley Hospital in West Valley City.

He was survived by his wife, Melba; children and their spouses, Donald G. and Necia Christensen, Robert O. and Jan Christensen, all West Valley City; JoAnn and Peter Rawlins, West Jordan; Karen and Wayne Park, Sandy; 27 grandchildren; seven great-grandchildren; brothers, M. Grant and D. James, Mesa, Arizona; John B., Florida; sister, Iva Wall, Lindon, Utah. He was preceded in death by sister, Thera Johnson.

Funeral services were held on Wednesday, Febuary 23, 1994 at 11:00 a.m. in the Meadowbrook First Ward Chapel of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints located at 1175 West Atheron Way (4350 South) in Taylorsville. A viewing was held on Tuesday from 5:00 until 8:00 p.m. at McDougal Funeral Home located at 4330 South Redwood Road (1700 West) in Taylorsville, and one hour prior to the services at the Church.
Glenn was laid to rest following the conclusion of the funeral services at Valley View Memorial Park in West Valley City.
