HUNTER, RUSSELL
Age 90, passed away peacefully, on Monday, December 21, 2015. He was born January 11, 1925, in Munhall, PA, the son of the late Madison and Edna Bost. Russell joined the United States Navy during WWII serving as a Gunner's Mate. He received several medals, including two bronze stars, earned at Bougainville and Okinawa. After the war, he returned to Munhall and married Lois Jean Barnes on December 17, 1955. While living in West Mifflin, Russell worked briefly in the local steel mill prior to selling automobiles for 30 years. Since 1947, Russell enjoyed spending time at his cottage at Canadohta Lake. He built a new home, "At the Lake" in 1967, and officially moved there in 1978, owning and operating Hunter's Hardware at Tillotson's Corners until retiring on June 30, 2010. In his spare time Russell enjoyed hunting, fishing, and boating. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his stepfather, Kirk Sutton; and step-brother, Robert Sutton.
