A 35 year resident of Sarasota and Lakewood Ranch, Carla was born in Ames, IA and raised in Collins, IA.
Always the entrepreneur, Carla ran a small skin care company distributing beauty products to customers throughout the country from her Sarasota based business. Carla loved to cook and entertain for family and friends and was a compassionate conversationalist to anyone who crossed her path.
Carla is survived by her son, Kenton Mears.
Upon Carla's request, no memorial service will be held. She will be interred privately at the Sarasota National Cemetery beside her late husband, Tom Moore.
