Carol A. Pinckney age 65 of Independence, died Monday, March 28, 2016 at St. John Medical Center in Tulsa, OK. Carol was born on January 22, 1951 in Sedan, KS, the daughter of Freddie James and Norma June (Horn) Book.

Carol was a member of the last class that graduated from the Moline High School, after high school she went to Butler Co, Community College to become a cosmetologist. She had also worked many years at her family’s store, Fred’s IGA until it was destroyed by a fire. Carol worked several years doing accounting work for Dave’s Body Shop and wrecker service, and as a bus assistant for the Independence School District.

Carol was a lifetime member of the Moline United Methodist Church, Eastern Star and the Moline Alumni. Most of all, Carol enjoyed spending time with her family, friends, and grandchildren.
