SANDUSKY: JOSEPH C. SANTORO, 93, residing in Sandusky, passed away Friday evening, March 25, 2016 at Firelands Regional Medical Center after a brief illness.

Joseph was born on March 13, 1923 in Mansfield, Ohio to the late Toney and Grace (Johnson) Santoro.

Joseph attended from St. Peters High School in Mansfield. He was a veteran of the US Army engineers. He was employed at Westinghouse Electric Corporation in Mansfield for 14 years; he retired in 1988 after 25 years from Third National Bank and was a ballroom dance instructor with his wife, Marilee since 1955. Joseph was a member of Sts. Peter and Paul Catholic Church, the Sons of Italy of the U.S., the American Legion, the former IAB Club and a 38 year member of the Sandusky Yacht Club. In his spare time, he enjoyed golfing with his brother Fred and friends.

Joseph is survived by his nephews, Douglas Gadfield, Michael (Sharon) Santoro and Robert Santoro Jr.; nieces, Linda Croscurth, Susan Salzgeber, Karen Johnson, Bardara Carlisle, Linda Dobbs, Barbara Rizzo, Ellen Fleming and Debra Rodomski; brother, Robert Santoro and many special friends.

In addition to his parents, Joseph was preceded in death by wife, Marilee (Webber) Santoro in 2012; sister, Bertha Santoro and brothers, Tom and Fred Santoro.

Friends may call on Wednesday, March 30, 2016 from 9:00 a.m. until the time of the Mass of Christian Burial at 10:00 a.m. Sts. Peter & Paul Catholic Church, 510 Columbus Avenue, Sandusky with Father Joe Steinbauer presiding. Entombment will follow in Calvary Cemetery, Sandusky.
