HAMPDEN – Martin “Marty” H. Arsenault, 62, passed away March 27, 2016, with family by his side. He was born in Castine, May 11, 1953, the son of Martin H. Arsenault and Jean (White) Arsenault.

Marty grew up in Hampden, an avid skier, passionate musician and expert fly-fisherman. The fourth generation in his family to graduate from Hampden Academy, Marty went on to complete a degree in machine tool technology and married his high school sweetheart, Brenda. Marty had an entrepreneurial spirit and founded the Howard Tool Company in 1985. He was proud to serve as president of the Boston Tooling and Machining Association, and was recently selected for induction into the Manufacturing Association of Maine Hall of Fame.

Although he was quiet, Marty was a performer at heart and loved drumming with his bandmates of 30 years, playing in the Anah Shrine Band, and singing with the Hampden Congregational Church choir.

Marty was predeceased by his father; wife, Brenda (Gott) Arsenault; and daughter, Katie Arsenault. Surviving are his son, Jamie Arsenault and Jessica; grandchildren, Ben, Ellie, Nathan and Harriet. Marty is also survived by his mother; two brothers, Mike Arsenault and Tim Arsenault and his wife, Elaine; a sister, Melanie Arsenault, and his nieces and nephews.

Burial will be later in the spring at Lakeview Cemetery, Hampden.
